01 — About
I work as a Digital Marketing Specialist at Ata Portföy in the asset management sector. I develop and execute integrated strategies spanning the digital promotion of investment funds, SEO strategy, email campaigns, and web analytics.
My career, backed by a Master's in Digital Marketing from Dublin City University and a Bachelor's in Advertising from Istanbul Bilgi University, is built on multi-channel campaign management across the FMCG, technology, and financial services sectors. Sample Work
A fictional example of the fund dashboards I produce daily at Ata Portföy. Not real fund data.
| Fund Code | Fund Name | Daily Return | YTD | Risk Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DEM01 | Sample Variable Fund | +0.42% | +8.34% | 4 |
| BOR02 | Sample Debt Instruments Fund | -0.18% | +3.21% | 2 |
| KAT03 | Sample Participation Fund | +0.05% | +5.60% | 3 |
| SER04 | Sample Free Fund | +1.10% | -1.05% | 6 |
Fictional sample data. Does not represent a real fund and is not investment advice.
Beyond that, there are two real open-source projects. The first is a Next.js + Python application that automates Ata Portföy's weekly investor presentation.
Problem
The 32-page investor deck was updated by hand in Excel every week. Most of the data (TEFAS, MSCI, Turkey's central bank EVDS, Yahoo Finance, Borsa İstanbul) had to be pulled manually from a Bloomberg terminal each week.
Solution
Data is now pulled automatically from seven free sources across 21 update steps. The same codebase renders a live web preview and generates PDF and PowerPoint through headless-browser rendering, with no risk of visual drift between the two.
Result
The second is a Node.js pipeline that produces the weekly one-page fund fact sheet for the same firm's 15 investment funds.
Problem
Fifteen separate fund brochures have to be refreshed every week, and there is a lot of moving data: daily unit prices for 14 funds, 17 benchmark series, portfolio breakdowns, net asset values, and KAP registry details (risk rating, management fee, founder, auditor). The price and benchmark archive lived in an Excel file; everything else was handled by hand each round.
Solution
A single-command, 12-step run. Data is pulled automatically from TEFAS, KAP, Borsa İstanbul, Nasdaq, and Yahoo Finance; the page is built in HTML/CSS with every chart hand-written as SVG and no charting library; headless Chromium (Playwright) prints each brochure to an A4 PDF. The Excel archive has been retired.
Result
A published Ata Portföy fund fact sheet, included as a work sample. Not investment advice.
04 — My Approach
Marketing inside a regulated industry works differently: every sentence you publish has a compliance counterpart, and every number you measure has a consent history behind it. That intersection is where I work. I work with investment funds, brokerages, and fintechs — institutions that carry a compliance obligation.
The places where the dashboard and reality diverge: consent signals, data thresholding, content security policy. I rebuilt this site's own analytics setup from scratch for that reason.
The line where Turkey's capital markets, data protection and consent rules meet marketing: which sentence can be written, and which one comes back from compliance. Your team writes the copy; I set the line and the approval flow.
Being a financial services advertiser carries obstacles of its own, and Google's financial services verification is the most visible one. I went through that process myself.
Data gathered by hand every week, a deck updated by hand, a number checked by hand. I build pipelines that feed on public sources and produce their own output; once one is running, you no longer need me for it.
None of the four is theoretical: I have written the first three up, with the measurements, on my blog, and the fourth one is running above. The posts are in Turkish.
How an engagement runs
The work runs in three stages and ends when a system is handed over, not as an open-ended retainer. How long it takes depends on scope.
| Stage | What comes out | What you provide |
|---|---|---|
| Boundaries | A written definition of what can be published, what data can be collected, and who signs off | A counterpart in compliance, and how sign-off works today |
| Build | Measurement, the approval flow and reporting running in your own accounts | Tool access and a list of your data sources |
| Handover | The system stays with you, together with the document explaining how it runs | One person to take it over |
